Privacy policy

The short version. The files you repair never leave your computer. The only personal data we keep is your email address, and only if you join the waitlist.

Who we are

FootageRescue is run by UAU Srl, Via Terenzio 7, 00193 Rome, Italy, VAT IT17458321001 (the "controller"). For anything about your data, write to hello@footagerescue.com.

Your files

Repairs run entirely inside your browser, on your own device. Your audio and video files are never uploaded, sent to us or stored by us. We cannot see them.

What we collect, and why

  • Waitlist. If you join the waitlist we store your email address, the type of file you told us you need to repair, the date you signed up and the country your request came from. We use it only to tell you when video repair launches, with the early-access offer. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). No newsletter, and we never sell or share your address.
  • Technical data. Like every website, the servers that deliver this site process your IP address and browser information to send you the page and to protect the site from attacks. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • Visit statistics. We may measure visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without identifying you.

Cookies

This site does not use cookies for tracking or advertising, and it doesn't load fonts or scripts from third parties. That's why there's no cookie banner.

Who processes the data for us

The site and the waitlist are hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., which acts as our processor under a data processing agreement. Cloudflare may process data outside the European Union; those transfers are covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

When you buy, Stripe acts as the merchant of record and processes your payment and tax details as an independent controller, under its own privacy policy.

How long we keep it

Waitlist emails are kept until video repair launches and for up to 12 months after, then deleted, unless you become a customer. You can ask us to delete yours at any time.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your data, object to its processing, and withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting what happened before. Write to hello@footagerescue.com; we reply within 30 days. You can also complain to the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, or to the authority where you live.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. If the change is significant and you're on the waitlist, we'll tell you by email.
